Sponsorship
The RoboCrafters have been the top Elementary VEX IQ robotics team in the state of Florida for the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 season. Sponsorship provides a unique opportunity for team members to connect with other talented teams around the world, compete in STEM activities, and have the necessary materials and transportation to compete in competitions.
You can donate safely through our Go Fund Me account at the link below, or click or the "Contact Us" button to send us an email for more information.
Some ideas of what your contributions would help us with are:
Buying parts for our robot. Some parts, like motors and batteries, are consumable. We are allowed to use 6 motors at a time on the robot and we also have extras (Approximately $20 each). We keep a lot of extra batteries for the robot on hand also (Approximately $20 each). All of the plastic pieces used to construct the robot are custom ordered and we have estimated each years plastic parts will be about $250. Wheels, tires, and sensors can be re-used each year but sometimes they break or go bad so we need new ones. (These parts range from $15-$25 each).
Registration Costs. We compete in multiple tournaments throughout the year. The registration for those events ranges from $35 to $125 for the state competition. Registration for the world competition is $850.
Travel Costs. Travel to and from events varies. We try to attend local tournaments, but most events are not close by. Most events are about 2 hours away. Our mom drives us everywhere we go (because as much as Lucas wants to, he can't drive yet)
STEM Research and Design Notebook Materials. We are working on making our design notebook professional, just like our website. Our STEM research activity this year will have us traveling to various locations and testing out our hypothesis.
Promotional Materials. Each year we have a banner which displays our team name and "slogan" for the year made, We take this to all our tournaments. When we go to the State Championship competitions we make buttons to hand out to other teams. Button sharing is a great way to get your name out and a lot of other teams do it. When we went to the World Championships last year our mentor purchased cutom made safety glasses with our team name that looked like Minecraft Game glasses. They were the most wanted trade item at the World Competition. We even took a picture with the creator and president of VEX Robotics in our team glasses.
